Weather Holds Out for Cross Country

It was great to see our College community out in force, enjoying exercising in God’s beautiful creation, whilst also raising money to further the Gospel!

With grey clouds looming in the distance, the scene was set for our Primary House Cross Country Carnival 2023. Once all students in Years 2 to 6 from both campuses had arrived at Mills Park, and following a couple of drops of fine rain, things quickly got off at a run!

With students in Years 2 to 4 running 1.5km and the Years 5 and 6s 2.0km, those blessed with the ability to run long distances, were able to shine!

Apart from a few raindrops here and there, all events were able to be completed rain-free.

Some light rain started during the presentations, adding an extra incentive to keep things rolling on quickly.

The first three students to finish in each event qualified to represent the College at the WACSSA Cross Country Carnival later in the term.

The Champion and Runner Up for each event were acknowledged for their efforts with medallions.

Aside from individual performances, the carnival also focused on Run4Bibles. Our College community were encouraged to raise funds to help spread God’s Word around the world, by having students receive sponsorship or donations in exchange for their hard work on the track.

This way, all students were challenged to think about others and follow Christ’s example, whilst also give meaning to every performance, regardless of finishing place.

This year, a whopping $11,807 was raised across the Primary Campuses, a real testament to the generosity of our community!

Thank you to all the staff for their help in making this event run smoothly.

It was also great to have many of our College parents and extended families come out in force to support the students and our Run4Bibles.

Thank you to Mrs Narelle Henderson for her outstanding assistance once again.

Additionally, special thanks goes to former Rehoboth graduate, Mr Ethan Farr, who led each and every race by either running or riding, to show our students the way – an amazing feat of endurance!

Once again, it was great to see our College community out in force, enjoying exercising in God’s beautiful creation, whilst also raising money to further the Gospel!
