Jake’s Cubby House is an Exciting Early Childhood Addition

Just before Term 2 ended, we had an exciting addition to the Early Childhood playground

A wonderful handmade cubby house designed and built by our one of the Year 12 students, Jake Thygesen, with the help of Mr Kuipers, our Secondary Design and Technology teacher. Once upon a time, Jake was a little Kindy kid at Rehoboth himself!

This auspicious occasion was greeted with great fanfare. The official opening of the cubby house even included a cutting of the ribbon ceremony! The students watched on with great glee and much giggling!

A student representative from each Early Childhood class presented Jake and Mr Kuipers with a card of thanks. What a wonderful way to celebrate the gifts and generosity of others and a brilliant way of developing relationships across the ages in the College.

Mrs Nieuwkerk concluded the proceedings by asking the students to give suggestions on what Jake should make next. The consensus was that the school was in dire need of a swimming pool. That might be a little out of the Design and Technology students’ brief, but it was gorgeous to see the little children so thankful for the gift they have received.
