Wonderful Results from the ACC Soccer/AFLx Carnivals

Wonderful Results from the ACC Soccer/AFLx Carnivals

Rehoboth yet again has demonstrated that our students are exceptionally talented when it comes to sporting abilities.

On Thursday 16 June, Year 7-9 Boys and Year 7-10 Girls had the opportunity to participate in a Soccer and AFLx Carnival respectively. The Carnival was run at the Mills Park sports complex, with the competition operating in a round robin format. The schools participating included: Providence, Southern Hills, Carey, and Dale (and Rehoboth).

The Rehoboth boys went straight into it, winning their first game, and then their second, and third. They then had a bye (automatic advancement to the next round of tournament play without competing), and after that, went on to win their fourth game. They ended the day winning a total of 4 out of 4 games, making them the champions of the Soccer Carnival!

The Girls competition was a modified version of AFL, losing one game to Providence, but pulling through to win the AFLx Carnival! Having had no training together, with some girls never having played AFL before, this was a great effort on behalf of the girls!

Well done to all the students who participated and worked together as a team to represent Rehoboth! Thank you to all the students that trialled to make the team, make sure you have another go next year!

Thank you also to all the teachers that helped coach and guide the teams on the day – Mr Marrell, Mr Peletier, Mr de Bruyn and Mr Bratschi.

We can’t wait to see what they bring next year!
