Year 4 Class Visit to SciTech

Year 4 Class Visit to SciTech

Exploring the Wonders of God and Science – This was a memorable Year 4 visit to SciTech!

Science is a captivating subject that opens doors to endless possibilities and fuels the curiosity of young minds. To nurture this inquisitiveness, our Year 4 class recently embarked on an exhilarating journey to SciTech for a day of learning and fun.

We started off the visit with a live theatre show to learn more about power and energy. Students learnt about the different forms of power and how they can be converted and used in numerous ways. Of course, it would not be a proper science show without some explosions and pyrotechnics! You could hear the excited OOOH’s and AAHH’s when the presenter unveiled a plasma gun that could generate energy to create a loud POP and a small burst of flame when fired. You could see the gears spinning in their inquisitive minds, thinking of all the exciting ways they could make use of such a contraption if they could get their hands on one!

Next stop was the amazing SciTech planetarium where we were taken on a mesmerizing journey through the cosmos and were left in awe of how amazing our God is – to have created such a vast universe with each star and planet perfectly aligned to sustain life on Earth and functioning in perfect harmony.

After a quick break for lunch, we were given the opportunity to explore the rest of SciTech. The interactive displays, designed to engage and inspire, immediately sparked the curiosity of everyone. Exploring and interacting with the different exhibits encouraged the students to ask questions, seek truth, and recognize that scientific exploration is a means to glorify God by uncovering the wonders of His creation.

The visit to SciTech was an unforgettable experience that left an indelible mark on their young minds that will leave a lasting impact on students, fostering a love for science that will continue to shape their lives in the years to come.
