This hands-on experience not only honed the practical skills of the Year 12 Chemistry ATAR class but also fostered teamwork and camaraderie.
The Year 12 Chemistry ATAR class recently enjoyed an engaging incursion where they completed a series of titrations. These experiments, both challenging and fun, required students to be careful and precise. The primary aim was to determine the percentage of acid in vinegar, and all groups achieved pleasing results.
This activity, linked to an assessment, not only built students’ practical skills but also provided an excellent opportunity for them to demonstrate teamwork and encourage each other.
The class was fully engaged and worked positively throughout the three-hour practical session. Following the experiments, students enjoyed a meal together, further fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration of their hard work.
Thanks so much to Mrs Lim and Mrs Kirkland (our lab technicians) who had to do a lot of preparation for this practical experience, and thanks to Mr Yu (Head of Science) for his expertise in helping, especially giving students tips to improve technique and precision.
