Year 12 Geography Urban Fieldwork

On a bright winter’s day, our Year 12 Geography students joined peers from Australian Christian College to explore Perth’s urban heart, uncovering the layers of sustainability, development, and God’s design woven into the city’s landscape.

On 7 August, our Year 12 ATAR Geography students, alongside peers from Australian Christian College, explored Perth’s urban landscape to investigate sustainability and development. The itinerary included Victoria Park, the Perth CBD, and Northbridge, where students examined innovative housing solutions, the Elizabeth Quay Special Purpose Zone, and the functions of the Inner Mixed Zone.

Blessed with a crisp winter’s day and bursts of sunshine, students embraced the walking and orienteering tasks with enthusiasm. The shared excursion not only deepened their understanding of urban planning but also highlighted the real-world applications of their geographical studies. Above all, we give thanks to God for the opportunities to learn more about His creation, to grow in knowledge, and to enjoy fellowship with one another.
