Year 11 Bake-Off Brings Sweet Success
As part of their Food Technology assessment, Year 11 students took part in Rehoboth’s “Big Bake-Off.” Students first explored traditional recipes before innovating with their own creative twists. Their final baked goods were judged on appearance and taste, using scorecards they developed based on quality criteria. The afternoon was filled with delicious aromas, teamwork, and impressive culinary skills. Well done to all students for their fantastic efforts.
Year 12 Bake Day – Preserving Skills and Sharing Flavour
Year 12 Food Technology students wrapped up a three-week unit exploring food preservation techniques, culminating in a hands-on Bake Day. Students prepared a variety of preserved items including sourdough start, ginger bug starter, jams, pickles, relishes and kimchi. As well as making fresh baked goods such as sourdough, cinnamon rolls, pretzels, and cornbread. These were then beautifully presented on grazing boards for a staff afternoon tea, showcasing both their technical skills and creativity. It was a fantastic celebration of learning, with delicious results enjoyed by all!
