It was truly a night to remember, filled with elegance, joy, and unforgettable moments.
As the clock struck 6:30pm, students began to arrive, each one more dazzling than the last. The evening kicked off with a flurry of photo-taking, capturing the beauty of friends adorned in glamourous dresses and mysterious masks. The excitement continued as everyone entered Optus Stadium, marvelling at the lit-up field while sipping on refreshing slushies and indulging in delicious starters.
Upon entering the ballroom, students found their seats and were welcomed by the wonderful MC, Mr Butson. The room buzzed with energy as students explored the photobooth, admired the stunning decorations, and mingled with friends. Dinner was a highlight of the evening, with delectable beef cheeks and crispy potatoes that were as glamourous as the attendees themselves. After fuelling up, the first formal dance of the night commenced.
The dancing portion of the night officially began with a spectacular first dance by Kayla and Mr Carter, setting the tone for an evening far beyond expectations. Students were led in a progressive dance, switching partners to greet their Year 11 and 12 friends by the instructors at Humphreys Dance Studio. This formal dancing was a special part of the evening, as students had learned these dances during their Senior Sport classes, adding a personal touch to the event.
The DJ then took over, and the dance floor came alive with more casual dancing, photobooth snaps, and relaxed moments at the tables. Another round of formal dancing followed, adding to the night’s charm and excitement.
As the evening drew to a close, the MC returned to announce the night’s awards: Year 11 and Year 12 Belle and Beau of the Ball, Best Dressed Teacher, and Best Dancer. The night ended on a high note, with students leaving with high spirits and sore feet, having created memories that will last a lifetime.
A special thank you goes out to the Ball Committee for all the hard work they put into organising this spectacular event. Their dedication and effort in the lead-up to the ball ensured that the evening was a resounding success.
