Year 10’s Photograph Perth City

Perth’s vibrant streets became the perfect canvas for our Year 9 and 10 Visual Communication students as they explored photography in real-world settings. From Cathedral Square to Elizabeth Quay, they captured architecture, street art, and city life through creative angles and techniques.

On the 14th of October, the Year 9 and 10 Visual Communication classes went on a photography walking tour through Perth. The students were able to practice their photography skills in inspiring and new environments. The tour began at Cathedral Square and included the restored State Buildings, the Perth Town Hall, Grand Lane street art, the Hay Street Mall, Wolf Lane street art, London Court, Howard Lane street art, Elizabeth Quay and the Bell Tower. The students had ample opportunity to photograph interesting architecture and creative street art along the way. It was a busy and fun day, and we were blessed with beautiful weather. The students took photographs demonstrating the rule of thirds and leading lines. They were also required to take landscapes, portraits and use a variety of camera angles as well as using aperture and shutter speed modes. The students had to submit their best photos of each for assessment and will also use their photographs for future class projects. The photos on display were taken by the students.
