WACSSA Interschool Athletics Carnivals

The WACSSA Interschool Athletics Carnivals were held during Week 4.

On Monday 2 November, the top two male and female competitors from Years 3-6 represented Rehoboth at the WACSSA Field Events Carnival, held at Gerry Archer Athletics track in Belmont.

Storms were forecast, yet God was gracious in holding the weather back and sending the rain, lightning and thunder around us but not on us!

It was a great day, where the students participated in the long jump, turbo javelin and shot put. Each student gave their best and earned valuable points for Rehoboth.

On Thursday 5 November, the students participated in the WACSSA Track Events at the WA Athletics Stadium in Mount Claremont. The events included 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m individual races. The day concluded with the 100m relays for each year group and then the final Grand School Relay.

The scores were tallied for both Carnivals, with Rehoboth emerging in 5th out of six schools. Regardless of the final result, I am very proud of each and every student that attended and gave their best – well done! This gives us something to work towards for next year to improve our position.

A special mention to the following students on their individual achievements:

  • Year 6 Boys- Achnaaf Sayon – Runner Up
  • Year 5 Boys- Noah Strahan – Runner Up
  • Year 5 Girls- Ikodiya Jonah Ikwuku – Champion
  • Year 3 Girls- Bethany Moylan – Runner Up
