WACSSA Cross Country Carnival 2021

There was nervous energy amongst the students, but each one of them harnessed their nerves, gave their best and earnt valuable points for Rehoboth.

On Friday 27 August, the top three male and female runners from Years 2-6 represented Rehoboth at the WACSSA Interschool Cross Country Carnival at Thomas Oval in Medina.

The Year 5-6 students ran 2km and the Year 2-4 students ran 1.5km on a challenging course that included a mix of terrains and a hill climb! There was definitely nervous energy amongst the students, but each and every one of them harnessed their nerves, gave their best and earnt valuable points for Rehoboth.

It was wonderful to see the students cheering the runners on during each race and congratulating each other on a race ran well, regardless of where they placed. I was very impressed with Noah Strahan and Jamie Matthews for their mentoring and marshalling of the younger students – good job boys!

A special mention to the following students on their individual achievements:

Year Student Position
5 Ilse Bongers 3rd
3 Liam Waugh 3rd
3 Emma Van Schie 3rd

Out of 18 schools competing, I am very happy to announce that Rehoboth came 6th! Well done everyone!

Thank you to Mrs Marmion and Mrs Matthews for all your help and support on the day. Thank you to all the parents, families and spectators who came on the day to help cheer on our athletes. You all played a valuable role in helping to make it a fun and successful day.
