Tyndale Surge to the Finish Line!

From sack races to turbo javelin throws, our Primary House Athletics Carnivals were a vibrant celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and fun. Discover how students from Years 1–6 gave their all on the track and field, and which House ultimately claimed victory!

Following a week of mixed weather, clear skies and beautiful conditions were enjoyed by all at the year 1-2 House Athletics Carnival across the road from the Wilson campus at Thomas Moore Park. The event was held much earlier this year, scraping into Term 3 on Monday 22 September 2025.

The format saw everyone start the day together for the 60m events, before moving off into a time of rotations, where students were able to enjoy egg and spoon, sack races, flag relays, bean bag toss, and shuttle relays. Before long it was back to the shelter of the House gazebos to witness the 120m events to finish things off. Following a picnic lunch and a well-deserved icy pole, the students returned to their regular campus, happy but thoroughly exhausted.

This year, the results were collated for the 60m and 120m events, providing a starting tally for each House as they all vied to get their hands on the Athletics Trophy. At the end of the year 1-2 carnival, Wycliffe was in 3rd place, Tyndale in 2nd, and Newton currently leading in 1st place. The students were most excited to know that they had contributed to their House points and looked forward to hearing the final standings after the Y3-6 events in Term 4.

The year 3-6 House Athletics Carnival – Field, 400m and 800m events were once again held at Langford Oval on Monday 27 October 2025. The top three jumpers, throwers, and middle-distance runners from each House, faced off in what was an exciting day of competition.

The year 3 House Athletics Carnival was held on Wednesday 29 October 2025, with busloads of excited students from Kenwick and Wilson, converging on Langford Oval, all keen to see which House would go the distance! The format remained much the same as the previous year, with all students competing in 100m and 200m sprints, and long jump and turbo javelin team events. The final events were the relays, followed by the presentations.

The following year 3-6 students were recognised with special awards:

At the end of our year 1-6 Athletics Carnivals, all individual and team points were collated, and it was announced that Wycliffe finished in 3rd, Newton in 2nd, leaving only Tyndale to take out 1st place. Well done to all our students for their efforts and thank you to our College community for coming out in such numbers over the three carnivals to support them all in their endeavours.

Special thanks to Mrs Henderson for her support and assistance across all events. Thank you to all our wonderful staff for stepping out of the classroom and onto the oval to run and coordinate events, you all make such days possible. As much as these carnivals are based around team spirit and demonstrating sporting prowess, we are reminded that in every we do, we do it for Him. To God be the glory!
