Thinking about our Thoughts

Following on from the Biblical thread, Transforming our Thinking, the Kenwick Year 1/2 class examined their own thinking and then presented an item at a recent Primary Celebrations morning.

2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us that we are to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”.

Each of us in Year 1/2 had a good think about our own thoughts and how we could change our thinking to please God. We identified some bad thoughts we sometimes have and chose good thoughts we would try and replace them with. We then turned these thoughts into drawings, and each came up with a line we would practise and say at the celebrations.

On the morning of the Celebrations, we set ourselves up in the undercover area and prepared to present our item. After we introduced the theme of “Transforming our Thinking”, each of us went up on stage to uncover how we would be attempting to change the way we think.

It was a blessing to see that the overwhelming response from the children was a desire to think more about God and the Bible. This was a good reminder for us all to develop a new frame of mind, based on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
