Our first weeks of Kindy have been filled with joy, curiosity, and countless new experiences as we welcomed a wonderful group of children and their families into our Rehoboth community. From new routines to exciting learning opportunities, our Kindy students are already growing in confidence, independence, and connection.
Our first days of Kindy have been filled with joy, excitement, and curiosity as we welcomed a brand-new group of children and their families into our Rehoboth community!
There were many new and exciting firsts for this special milestone! A new uniform, bag, and lunch box; a resting towel and special hat; our very own tray to keep our belongings; and a special name tag to wear, not to mention new routines throughout the day. The Kindy children have embraced the new and are growing in independence and resilience each day!
Our new learning environment has been alive with playful exploration and creativity, both indoors and outdoors. How can I use the blocks to build a tower? How can we care for the babies? What happens when I pour water through a sieve? How can I draw a rainbow? What changed when I added water to the sand?
We have a whole class of new friends that we are getting to know, as well as our teachers. We are learning to use words to talk to our friends and teachers, as well as to work together and share our things. We are practising moving together as a group throughout the day and following new transitions and routines. Kindy can be very tiring!
Moving our bodies to music and through our daily obstacle course has challenged us physically. We have also enjoyed starting at the very beginning of the Bible. Did you know that the world was empty and dark to begin with? Our Kindy children learned that God created light on Day 1 of the Creation story.
We are excited for a year filled with discovering God’s world, building relationships with one another, learning in many ways, and creating lots of fun memories. We pray for God’s continued goodness, grace, and blessing to us as a group as we embark on the JOY of the Kindy journey!
