“Today we saw a lot of progress in many of the kids. They were paying attention and were able to remember the memory verse we had been teaching them since Tuesday. They had lots of fun making mummies and creating some unusual face paint artworks on the “human canvases” of Ben C. and myself. Community night was a wonderful opportunity for the kids to show their parents what they had learned, and for us to show the parents the work we were doing. All in all, a wonderful day!”

“On Thursday, we learned about the God who rescues! Our morning session started with singing songs that represent the truth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. After this, we watched a drama play by the amazing drama team. On this day, we were sharing about the story of Moses and the ten plagues, how God used Moses to free the people and parted the sea.
After this, we made a wire-Egyptian-mommy, had a Bible talk, played some games and memorised Scripture verses. We had morning tea outside and had a good time playing games like ‘Steady Says’, ‘Red light Green light’ and more. Then, we got back together and sang more songs and said goodbye to the kids.
After lunch, the mission team got ready for the afternoon session. Some played sport, and some did arts and craft. We had a great time playing football. Even though it was raining, we had an excellent time. It sure was a tight game with a time with 5-5. In arts and craft, they made bracelets and had a good time with all the kids in Leonora.
We all got back together after the afternoon session and had some quiet and thinking time to reflect on what God has been doing in our lives. We wrote in our journals and read our Bibles. It was a refreshing time for us amidst our busy schedule. It was a blessing to spend our alone time with God.
After reflection time, we went to the rec centre and had dinner. It was a great time of fellowship and community. Then we got ready for our community night with all the kids and welcoming the families! This was an amazing night full of fellowship, love and social activities.
This was a highlight not just for me but for everyone else as well. We started singing and dancing, as well as showing the families what the kids have learned. It was amazing to see the kids engaging and knowing all the dances and songs. It was a memorable time! Our music and actions team did an incredible job.
Another highlight was singing Jesus Hokey Pokey, led by “Adventure Phil” and myself on the guitar. It was amazing to see everyone rocking the Jesus Hokey Pokey and having so much joy. Our fantastic and energetic MCs, Catherine and Josephine kept everyone engaged. It was very competitive and full of fun for sure. The night drew to a close and we said goodbye to the families and kids after a wonderful day.
That night, some of us went stargazing and sang some songs together. I led us on the guitar, and we had an amazing time singing our favourite songs at the top of our lungs. It was a long and busy day, and we were all very, very tired.
To be honest this was by far my favourite day on this trip. We had so many memorable moments! It was absolutely amazing.”
