It’s been a busy and exciting start to the year in Physical Education. It’s hard to believe how quickly the term has gone by, but I am glad to share with you some highlights!
Bon Vonyage Dion
As many of you know, our regular PE teacher, Mr Dion Farr, began his long service leave. While we miss him dearly, we will surely appreciate him even more when he returns in Term 2!
In Dion’s absence, I’ve joined as the temporary PE teacher for the rest of Term 1. It has been a joy to be welcomed so warmly by both staff and students. In our PE lessons, we’ve been focusing on Teeball, developing key skills like hand-eye coordination, running, hitting, and teamwork. The students have been doing an excellent job!
Interhouse Swimming Carnival
This was a day full of energy, excitement, and healthy competition! The students competed with great enthusiasm, and it was inspiring to see them both in the pool and on the sidelines supporting their teammates.
Regardless of their place, the important thing was that they kept swimming to the finish line. I always encourage students to do their best without worrying about the results or comparing themselves to others. Galatians 6:4-5 reminds us to take pride in our own actions without comparison.
To all the students who gave it their best – well done for swimming your race. Just as we saw students cheering on their teammates, we too are in a race with people cheering us on. Hebrews 12:1-2 encourages us to run with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Thank you to all the students for their hardwork and positive attitude, and to the parents and staff for your continued support.
