Introducing TESLA

TESLA is a STEM initiative being held at Rehoboth Christian College during 2016.

STEM stands for: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

The Department of Education has made STEM a priority across schools in Australia. Students with training in STEM open themselves up to an incredibly diverse array of job opportunities as part of a rapidly growing industry.

Red Cross Cadets Commences at Rehoboth

Ready for Adventure?

Over three days and nights, Rehoboth’s Year 9 students this month participated in a variety of unique and exciting activities at the Bickley Outdoor Recreation Campsite.

At the camp we were committed to encouraging maximum participation in a wide range of experiences. Students learnt:

Year 9 Humanities Students visit Victoria Dam

“On 30 October our Year 9 classes went on an excursion to Victoria Dam. We went to view the structure and uses of the dam in Perth, and to find out why it is so important. We also learnt about the changes made to it over the years and how they have worked and improved the dam. It was a bit of walking, but it was interesting and I’m sure most people learnt something new.

Experiencing Indonesia

On 16 September, four of the Year 10 Indonesian students and both students from the Year 9 class had the opportunity to go to Indonesia with their teacher, Mrs Nathan, for an intensive learning program run by ACICIS. Throughout this trip they were able to use their knowledge of Indonesia and put their language skills to the test.

2015 NAPLAN Results: Kenwick Secondary

Year 9

A comparison with national benchmarks and the NAPLAN Year 9 standards indicates strong Rehoboth results, with its mean well above the WA and National Schools Means in ALL areas tested. Compared to the State means, Numeracy (+37), Grammar and Punctuation (+34), Writing (+28), Spelling (+33), Reading (+22), are all relative strengths for this group and rated well above other means.

Secondary Interhouse Cross-Country

Rehoboth Ranks 28th in WA Top 50 Schools

Each year, the Australian newspaper includes a Your School section as part of The Weekend Australian issue. In its issue of 21-22 June it compared the nation’s top 100 schools based on its NAPLAN results. It then listed the top schools State by State.
