Shimmering Elegance at the 2018 Senior School Ball

On the last Thursday of the Term 1 holidays our Senior students and staff met at Frasers in Kings Park for the annual Teen Challenge Ball.

We all arrived to find the venue beautifully set up to the theme of “Starry Night”. Many thanks to Mrs Laugharne and her trusty team of staff.

The stage was set: The ladies looked shimmeringly elegant and the gentlemen scrubbed up quite nicely indeed.

Our MC, Mr Taylor, got the night started and kept it running super smoothly with some sparkling/poignant/interesting poetry (take your pick) along the way.

Tim Komaiya and Sophia Song took out the “Supernova” awards for the finest dance moves on the night. Keziah Erispe received the “Brightest Star” award for being the most courteous and elegant, as did Ezra Pleysier for the second year in a row. What a gentleman!

As for the rest of the night, it went something like this:

  • Delicious dinner
  • Delivery of our fundraising dollars to Teen Challenge
  • Dancing of the ballroom variety
  • Damsels with sore feet
  • Delightful dessert
  • Dancing of the not-so-formal variety
  • Dancing of the ridiculous variety causing dehydration
  • Damsels with even sorer feet
  • Dog-tired departure

A great time was had by all. We certainly have much to celebrate and be thankful for!
