Secondary Science and Digital Tech Grant Success

We were overjoyed to be granted $10,000 for the purchase of modern technologies needed for this event in Year 7 and 8 Digital Technologies.

One of the highlights for our Year 7 and 8 Digital Technology students has been the opportunity to participate in the STEM-based Game Changers Award Competition. This competition provides opportunity for students to work together in teams to develop innovative solutions to address global challenges as we engage with God’s world and look to respond Christianly. In previous years, students from Rehoboth have achieved outstanding outcomes. However, we desire to equip our students and enrich their experience and exposure to advanced modern technologies, as well as to provide opportunity for adoption of these technologies into their problem-solving projects. With this need in mind, we applied for The Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagements and International Competitions which provides funds to sponsor young Australians to take part in STEM events.

We were overjoyed to be granted $10,000 for the purchase of modern technologies needed for this event in Year 7 and 8 Digital Technologies. This is in addition to $7,000 that we received from the same grant for the Year 9 and 10 TESLA elective. God has blessed us with the funds to resource the programs and provide more opportunity for more students to engage in this area of study. We have already purchased several Lego robots for the TESLA elective and entry for four teams into the First Lego League regional competition. We intend to purchase VR sets, additional 3D printing options, large drones, and Wi-Fi cameras for Digital technologies. We will continue to be in discussion with the school management team to finalise the items.

We were so excited by this good news that we wanted to share it with the wider community here at Rehoboth. God is good.
