Afte re-joining the soccer carnival last year, this year Rehoboth stepped things up by entering both a boys and a girls team. This was a great way to acknowledge and encourage even more of our gifted soccer players, to represent the College at an interschool level. Once again, some of the Year 10 Specialist Sport Soccer students were also selected to assist with coaching and refereeing throughout the carnival.
On Friday 24 May 2024, everyone converged on Maida Vale Reserve, relishing the opportunity of a great day of competition. The weather was fine and ensured a great day ahead for all.
Both teams fought hard throughout the carnival, with stiff competition the standard of teams in the A division. As the day progressed, it was great to see the way both our teams came together to meet the challenges each game posed. There were some amazing saves, tackles, and fantastic goals scored!
At the end of the carnival, it was announced that the Boys had finished third overall, which was a good achievement. The girls, in their first outing for Rehoboth finished second overall, only just missing out the top spot by a single game!
Well done to all members of our teams for their hardwork and perseverance over the carnival. We look forward to next year and another opportunity to continue to fly the Rehoboth flag at this event as our students use their gifts to bring glory to the Creator.
