Reho Fun Day

Reho Day was a joyful celebration of community, faith, and fun, where students of all ages came together to conquer obstacle courses, blow bubbles, and build bonds across year levels, all in the spirit of loving God and enjoying Him forever. It was a vibrant display of the Rehoboth Vibe, with teamwork, creativity, and laughter filling the oval from morning till evening.

The chief end of man is “to love God and enjoy Him forever”!

If you found yourself on the oval on the last Friday of Term 3, you would have witnessed this being lived out. Joy on all the faces of both teachers and students. We had it all happening: Hay bales, cargo net crawls, inflatable obstacle courses, bubbles, awesome artwork, music pumping and a whole school coming together to enjoy each other’s company. This was Reho Day!

Students spent part of their allotted time cruising around the course with a student who was much older/younger than themselves, being helped over difficult obstacles or cheered on. It was a wonderful time of getting to know each other between High School and Primary School students. The music blared in the background as the students scrambled up the hay bales or just leapfrogged the whole lot. Hands were held over the balance beams whilst others dodged toy arrows shot by High School teachers. Year 12s blew bubbles that filled the atmosphere with delight.

After the cross year level run segments, students lined up in year-level races to see which students were the most agile, going one lap as fast as you could. Much of the school watched on as some flew round the course, others flew into each other and others soaked up the sunny spring weather and enjoyed a casual lap with a friend. When the school bell went, we finished off the last few of the races and then took a short pause.

From 3:20 to 5pm, the Fathering Project took over, with many families sticking around to buy a coffee and try the track a bit more. The highlight of this was the family event, where families completed the whole course together as a group, seeing who could stick together the best, some parents having to make 3 or 4 laps as they went round for the different age category races. Lots of the kids just loved spending time bouncing around on the obstacle course till the plug was pulled and it was time to head home.

The event was a fantastic display of the Rehoboth Vibe. A wonderful community coming together to love God and enjoy Him forever. I’ve always loved seeing people come together. The older, helping the younger, the strong helping the supple, those who have studied at the school for over a decade now supporting the Kindy students as they scramble around the course.

The whole process of preparing for the event was a team effort. SJ Rural Supplies borrowed the hay bales to us for a very cheap price, even dropping them off and returning them on the same day. The balance beams were fantastically put together by our Year 9 woodwork students and even painted in the house colours using their actual feet! The huge school logo and the fantastic creatures were spray painted by a bunch of our artistic High Schoolers, with the help of a few Year 4 students. The maintenance crew helped with the logistics and the Sports department generously provided much of the equipment, whilst Primary and Secondary teachers shared the MC role throughout the afternoon!

Thanks for a wonderful end to term and a great vision of the blessing of working together as a community!

Soli Deo Gloria
