The 2026 Primary House Swimming Carnival was held at Riverton Leisureplex and brought together Year 4–6 students for a day of spirited competition and House pride. With record participation, nail‑biting finishes, and outstanding sportsmanship on display, the carnival concluded with Newton reclaiming the House crown in a memorable return to form.
The Primary House Swimming Carnival was held on Thursday 19 February 2026 at the Riverton Leisureplex. The school year had only just got going when suddenly week 3 rolled around and it was time for each of the Houses to do battle in the pool!
Due to increasing numbers across our campuses, this was the biggest swimming carnival yet. Our Y4-6 students swam off in 50m, 25m, and a variety of team events, with a large number of students keen to represent their House.
Across the course of the carnival, all results were collated and in line with the fierce competition, there were some very close results. In an amazing turn of events, our Y6 Girls had a tie for Champion, and a three-way tie for Runner-Up! The following students were presented with some special awards to acknowledge their individual performances.

Following the individual awards, the final House points from all events throughout the carnival were announced, with Wycliffe in third place, Tyndale in second, leaving Newton to regain the crown that they had lost last year. Well done to everyone for the way they represented their House and showed good sportsmanship, following Christ’s example to love their neighbour.
A big shout out to all the staff for playing their specific roles throughout the carnival, we couldn’t make it happen without you all. Special thanks to Mrs Henderson for all her assistance on the day and also behind the scenes. Thanks to Mr de Bruyn and Mr Phillips for bringing the Y11 Physical Recreation students to assist with the running of events, you were all amazing, thank you! Finally, thanks to all of our Primary community for coming down to the pool to cheer the students on. It is always a pleasure to see our students using their gifts, to bring glory to God through sport!
