Out and About with the Year 10s

The Year 10 students took the opportunity of the last week of Term 2 to get out and about! (Don’t worry, it was all part of their Geography studies)

Firstly on Tuesday, 30 June, we went to Curtin University to participate in two workshops which involved getting our hands on some pretty interesting technology. One class participated in a surveying workshop while the other class learned about Geographic Information Systems. After lunch, we swapped over.

The surveying instructor set us with a challenge and he was very impressed with Sabrina, Florence and Shannon who completed the task with zero error!

The following day, we took a bus to Corriedale Springs in Thornlie where we engaged in some planting of native seedlings along the Canning River. Most students found it a relaxing exercise and it would be good to re-visit the site in years to come to see the results of our work.
