Making An Impact in the Soccer Comp

Our students shone at the WACSSA Soccer Carnival, with the girls finishing fifth and the boys clinching first place in a thrilling final!

On Thursday 29 May, boys and girls teams selected from students across both Primary campuses represented the College at the WACSSA Soccer Carnival. It was also great to have the Year 10 Specialist Sport Soccer students attend to assist with coaching and refereeing duties throughout the carnival.

Despite some early rain, the weather soon cleared and improved as the carnival progressed. Both teams had a bye in the first round, which ensured that they could do a little bit more preparation prior to their first game.

The girls team worked diligently throughout the carnival as they were presented with some strong competition. It was pleasing to see the way they continued to strive to develop their teamwork and strategy throughout the day. At the end of the carnival, they finished in fifth place in the Girls A Division. Well done on an excellent sustained effort in all games!

The boys were able to gel quickly as a team and demonstrated strength in defence and attack. They were able to remain undefeated coming into the final round where they met Emmanuel, who has also had a dominant day thus far. In this decider, Rehoboth proved to be the stronger team with a dominant display to claim first place in the Boys A Division!

It was great to have a number of our parents come along to support the students in their endeavours. Both teams did a wonderful job in the way they represented the College throughout the carnival. It is always great to see our students using their gifts in a way that was honouring to God.
