Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
Let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together!
In Christian Studies, our Year 4 Red class has explored the various prophets and kings of the Old Testament. We have recently learnt about David’s life, his work, his flaws and his commitment to God. We discovered how David was a great warrior and king and his writing of beautiful Psalms.
Students have recounted and sequenced Bible stories, characters, events and eras on a timeline and have identified characters and events that impacted the history of God’s people.
As a class we read a few Psalms and listened to “Psalm 34” by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
One activity we enjoyed was to create a sentence describing our God. Students were given the prompt “God is like…” to begin a Psalm-inspired sentence by using metaphors and similes.
It is always encouraging to hear about God’s Word, but even more encouraging to see how it impacts the lives of the students. Students have been able to get wisdom by going deeper than understanding and knowledge to seek the insight of God. It is such a blessing to spend time delving into God’s Word and sharing with students at Rehoboth Christian College.
