After months of effort and exertion from the Year 11 General Drama class, we finally performed Rehoboth Secondary’s first theatrical production in over two decades a few weeks ago at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre. An audience totalling about 400 and consisting of staff, students, friends, and even a few curious locals turned up to watch the two shows (on Monday 4 November and Tuesday 5 November). The play was exceptionally well received, and our performers went home a mixture of exhausted, elated, and relieved.
I felt things, I laughed, I pondered things, I was thinking about things the next day, I was incredibly proud of everyone, I enjoyed it. My favourite thing was before they started, seeing the community bubbling away together, being excited, being out of uniform and relaxed, being together. It warmed my heart to a surprising level. I was blown away by the quality of the kids' performances and the set. It was really fun and thought provoking. Lachie (husband) and I both really loved it. He was delighted by the whole thing; it exceeded his expectations. He raved about it more than I am right now, and he's hard to please!

I couldn't agree more. It is an honour for me to work with such talented, positive, and hardworking students. They knocked it out of the park. I was also very thankful to several members of the Rehoboth community who gave their time, support, advice, and love to make this production happen. Well done everyone.
