Our Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed two enriching Chinese cultural incursions including Tai Chi and Calligraphy.
Year 7 students observed demonstrations of Tai Chi first (Taiji quan), sword (Taiji jian), and fan (Taiji shan), while also reflecting on the difference between Chinese worldviews and Christian perspectives. This helped strengthened their faith in Jesus!
Meanwhile, Year 8 students explored the history of Chinese calligraphy and practised writing characters with brush and ink, focusing on 福 (blessing), 爱 (love), and 蛇 (snake). Both year groups found the incursions engaging and meaningful as they experienced the beauty of Chinese culture.
