With lots of excitement, loads of energy and curiosity, as well as a little trepidation, our brand-new Kindy Blue students were ready for their very first days of school!
With lots of excitement, loads of energy and curiosity, as well as a little trepidation, our brand-new Kindy Blue students were ready for their very first days of school! Dressed in their new Kindy uniform, with bags holding a drink bottle, lunch box, hat and resting towel, the Kindy students couldn’t wait for our doors to open! Mums and dads helped to unpack bags and head inside to explore the playful hands-on learning activities set up inside. What fun!
We eased into our first week with only one day of Kindy with half of the class. This helped us to become familiar with our teachers, and to understand the flow of a day at Kindy, as well as get to know a few of our Kindy peers. So many new routines to follow and new people to meet… it made us VERY hungry throughout the day and VERY tired by the afternoon!
In our second week, we jumped in full force, with our whole class attending for two days. We had double the number of friends to play with and get to know! There are so many fun and unique personalities, each of them different, and we have made a wonderful beginning at playing with and working together with our friends.
Kindy students learned through play, and it was wonderful to see them immediately drawn to various parts of the classroom to discover new things with joy and wonder. How does the double decker bus open? What pattern does this shell make in the playdough? Where could the crab hide in the sea small world play?
Wow! New beginnings are so exciting! Over the rest of this term, our focus will be on the VERY beginning of our world as we follow the Biblical narrative of Creation. I wonder what God created on Day One?
