Exciting opportunities have become available for qualified Christian educators to join our Early Childhood and Primary teams at the start of 2024. We are seeking Special Needs Education Assistants and Early Childhood Education Assistants who are seeking either part-time or full-time positions at our Kenwick Primary and/or Wilson Primary Campuses.
Initial appointments for 2024 will be made through the remainder of 2023, with possible appointments continuing to be made from a recruitment pool in 2024.
As a growing College, we are seeking to further develop highly collaborative and interdependent teams across both primary schools. Our Education Assistants are fundamental to these teams and help to ensure that all students are provided with the support they need to unlock their learning and development. This support can range from one-to-one assistance in class, small group support and delivery of specific intervention programs.
Our Special Needs Assistants support students with a range of additional needs, including students with Down Syndrome, ASD, ADHD, anxiety and language difficulties.
Are you someone who has a genuine love for Christian education, children, and their families? If so, this is the role for you!
About Rehoboth
As the first Christian parent-governed school in Western Australia, we are pioneers of distinctly Christian education. Our rich heritage stretches back almost sixty years; we have learned a fair bit in that time and are always seeking ways to improve and innovate.
Rehoboth exists to partner with families in their God-given task of nurturing and educating their children. You will be joining a team who really believe in their mission to lead students to think and live for the glory of God in every aspect of their lives.
About the Position
You will need to perform non-teaching duties to assist the teaching staff in the Primary School, providing care and supervision for students including those with special needs who require learning support.
What You Need to Succeed
We look for people who are a great cultural fit. Rehoboth is a community of Christians – parents and staff alike – and we prioritise supporting one another in our spiritual walks and encouraging students to explore their faith and discover their God-given gifts.
Because of the deeply Christian nature of our College, we consider all staff to be role models to students, no matter what position they hold. We take your active involvement in a local Protestant Christian church, a deeply committed Christian lifestyle, and ability to articulate your personal Christian faith as evidence of your desire to help build a vibrant Christian community at Rehoboth.
You will also need to be an exceptional communicator and have an outstanding ability to work collaboratively with staff and students. This is where your pastoral heart and passion for teaching will shine.
Here are the essential criteria for the position:
- you must be actively involved in a local Protestant Christian church and be able to demonstrate an exemplary Christian lifestyle;
- you must hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check; and
- you must be willing to obtain a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check;
- you must hold a Certificate IV in Education Support if you apply specifically as a Special Needs Education Assistant; and
- refer to the position description for role-specific essential criteria.
