Heartwarming Primary Choir Excursions

Primary Choir Excursions Banner

We thank God for the opportunity to serve others through music and to be a blessing to the community.

This week, the Primary Choirs at both Kenwick and Wilson visited two local aged care facilities: Manoah Homes and Amana Living Frederick Guest Hostel. Each choir performed a selection of songs that had the residents singing along and tapping their feet. The song lists included Christmas carols as well as classics like ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly’ and ‘My Favourite Things’.

After the performance, students spent time chatting with the residents, sharing stories and handing out artwork. It was a heartwarming experience for both students and residents. Residents said that they enjoyed singing along with the children. Students said that they loved talking with older people. Staff at the aged care facilities said that it was such a joy to watch the residents’ faces light up when they heard the children sing and asked if the Choir could visit again in the following week!
