What a year 2020 has been.
So many unforeseen changes, including how our teachers, parents, and students had to quickly adapt to online teaching and learning due to COVID-19.
Although it was a year where groceries and toilet paper were scarce, God’s faithfulness abounded. His peace and assurance surpassed the chaos, fear, and anxiety of this world. Unlike the conditions of life, God does not change like shifting shadows.
It calls to mind the famous hymn by Thomas O Chisholm:
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, They compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be
Great is Thy faithfulness, great is They faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside
As we reflect on God’s faithfulness throughout this past year, we are thankful that God has been our Provider, and that parents had the opportunity to be more involved in guiding their children to adapt to online learning. We are assured that God will continually take good care of us as His children and we can look forward to the new year ahead.
