The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast on 4 September 2026 was a wonderful opportunity to gather with leaders from across government, business, education, and community organisations to reflect on the importance of faith, service, and prayer in public life.
Often, when considering the state of government and society, it can be easy to focus on challenges and shortcomings. Throughout the breakfast, attendees were encouraged instead to recognise the blessings of living in Australia and to pray faithfully for those entrusted with leadership.
Through a series of heartfelt prayers, representatives from government, business, and education shared their desire to see God continue His work in these spheres for His glory.
Highlights of this year’s prayer breakfast were guest speaker Ed Surrey, Director of CRU West, and the Second Chance Choir, which brings together people from backgrounds of adversity.
The breakfast was a timely reminder of the power of prayer and the importance of supporting our leaders, communities, and nation through faith and service.
