Day 7 of Canberra – 24 June
The adventures began with a visit to the Australian Institute of Sport. The morning started with a delightful morning tea and some free time to explore the gift shop, where students picked up souvenirs and mementos. Following this, we embarked on a guided tour of the facility, which included the engaging ‘Sportex’ program. The students were thrilled to learn about Australia’s sports history and try out various interactive exhibits that tested their skills and agility.
Lunch was served in the beautiful grounds of the Australian Institute of Sport, providing a perfect opportunity to relax and refuel after an active morning. The hot lunch was enjoyed by everyone, and it gave us a chance to chat and share our excitement about the day’s activities.
After lunch, we headed to Corin Forest for an afternoon of snow play and tobogganing. The students were ecstatic as they collected their snow gear and toboggans, ready to experience the snowy wonderland. The laughter and joy were contagious as everyone enjoyed sliding down the slopes and playing in the snow. It was a memorable experience for many, some of whom were seeing snow for the first time.
Following our snowy adventures, we had a relaxing afternoon tea and returned our snow gear before heading back to Sundown Villas. Dinner was served, and the day was filled with stories and reflections on the fun we had at Corin Forest.
In the evening, Mr Kuipers led us in a meaningful devotion on reconciliation, providing a thoughtful end to a day filled with excitement and learning.
