Exploring Ancient China: Year 9 Visit the Terracotta Warriors

Our Year 9 Mandarin students recently explored the remarkable Terracotta Warriors Exhibition at the WA Museum, gaining a deeper understanding of ancient Chinese civilisation. This hands‑on experience enriched their language learning and helped them connect classroom knowledge with real historical contexts.

On Wednesday, 11 February, our Year 9 Mandarin students enjoyed a rich and memorable visit to the Terracotta Warriors Exhibition at the WA Museum.

During the excursion, students explored authentic artefacts from ancient China. This experience deepened their understanding of Chinese civilisation and helped them appreciate the cultural background that shapes the language they study in class. They explored historical beliefs and practices presented in the exhibition, reflected on similarities and differences between cultures, and made meaningful links between classroom vocabulary and real historical contexts.

We are thankful for the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. Experiences like this not only broaden students’ knowledge but also remind us to be grateful for God’s grace and the chance to grow together in wisdom and understanding.
