At the heart of Rehoboth, families matter and supporting each other in faith and life is important.
“This was the best Open Day ever,” said one student at the end of the day, whilst holding a bag of lollies and slime. Our Open Day has actually been renamed ‘Community Day,’ to better reflect the vibrant and diverse families that make Rehoboth such a unique place of learning and faith.
A variety of food was served. For the first time, freshly made olliebollen were consumed alongside biryani and bubble tea. There was even a gourmet sausage sizzle that would have made Bunnings proud. Croquettes, hot chips, ice-creams and barista-made coffee helped complete the ‘healthy’ options provided on the day.
Kids had fun with the entertainment and activities. This included a massive 25 metre Spartan obstacle course, huge slide, and a challenging rock-climbing wall. Over 350 kids got a wrist-tag to enjoy these unlimited rides. In between this activities, there was chariot racing, sack races, pumpkin tossing and the highly competitive tug-of-war. Kids (and adults) could hug a llama or a bunny rabbit as well.
Musical talent was presented on stage and at the busking area. Kenwick and Wilson Primary choirs sang and swayed for us, dressed in their red and white uniforms. The Primary and Secondary bands wowed us with their skills and helped us tap our feet and clap to the rhythm. Over $80 was raised for our street buskers, which will go to our missions support in the Philippines and Indonesia.
This day created the opportunity for conversations that were had and catch-ups with friends old and new. At the heart of Rehoboth, families matter and supporting each other in faith and life is important.
