The Year 2 class has been very busy settling in and enjoying our new classroom. Our new room is almost twice the size of our old classroom! The extra space means we can now have extra fun and we have been able to create some fantastic areas in our room.
During our maths sessions we break into three groups and rotate through a series of learning experiences. We now have a wonderful stand up table where a group will complete an independent maths-based activity. Mrs Ray works with a group on the mat and Mrs Pol assists a third group in our block corner with a different activity.
Our students have loved the opportunities to explore their dramatic play skills with our new home corner. They love to prepare meals, create shopping experiences and post letters to each other.
Our class has lots of people who love to build. Some of us love building with Lego and some of us love to build with blocks. Our new room allows us the opportunity to do both! We have a Lego building table that is very popular, and we have a fabulous block corner were we have constructed all sorts of amazing buildings. I am sure we have some future engineers in our class.
We have also enjoyed having library so close to our room and we have utilised this facility to fill our reading corner with books that the students have chosen. Many of our students love to grab a book and sit on our beautiful new couch for some reading time.
We are so thankful to God for our new room!
