It was such a blessing to engage in developing and applying our creativity to honour Christ through our artworks.
In Year 5 Arts this year, we have been investigating different artistic movements and the ways in which these have grown, developed and changed over time. During our art sessions we had the opportunity to engage in an incursion where we explored the artistic movement of Impressionism. Impressionism is an art medium which focuses on representing form in unrealistic, indistinct ways and focuses on blending colours and hues with one another.
In this case, we developed an understanding of a variety of different techniques such as stippling, sketching, etching, blending and imprinting. We applied the techniques we learned during our application and creation of our art exhibition artworks where we reflected on how God created each animal within our Earth, particularly focusing on the different bird species God has blessed us with. It was such a blessing to engage in developing and applying our creativity to honour Christ through our artworks.
Students enjoyed the artwork and their work being exhibited and their feedback on the event is described below.
