Year 7 students dived into the art of Chinese calligraphy last term, mastering brush strokes, while Year 8 students embraced the flow of Tai Chi, complete with hands-on fun!
The Year 7 students took part in a Chinese Calligraphy Incursion. Students learned how to hold and use a traditional calligraphy brush, practised writing basic strokes, and created their own Chinese characters to take home. It was a calm and creative session that many students thoroughly enjoyed! This offered them a new appreciation for the beauty and skill behind Chinese writing.
The Year 8 students experienced a Tai Chi Incursion. They observed a live demonstration by a Tai Chi teacher and had the chance to interact by asking questions. They also had the unique opportunity to handle Tai Chi props such as a practise sword and fan, which added an exciting, tactile element to the session.
