Chalk Drawings by Kenwick Year 4’s

Chalk Drawings by Kenwick Year 4's

The activity made for a special experience and great memories for the students, and they were reminded that God is the original and Master Creator.

Last term, the Kenwick Year 4 students had the opportunity to participate in the 2022 Rehoboth Arts Festival. For weeks beforehand, the school was abuzz with busyness and excitement while the preparations were made.

Each class was asked to provide some samples of art done in class based on the theme of ‘Life in Colour’. Our class submitted 4 artworks that explored the colour green in different tints, tones and shades. They were displayed in the art exhibition alongside the many other excellent artworks from across the school.

We saw the huge variety of art that students from other Year levels created. We had a great time exploring and taking it all in. Some of the students in our class also submitted works into the art competition and had their work displayed in the walls of the gym!

All students were asked to help colour the pavement at the front of the gym with chalk drawings. There are many things you need to teach a child before they can do it but apparently using chalk on the pavement isn’t one of them! The students were so excited to begin, and all immediately had unique and creative ideas. Some of them collaborated, communicated and combined their ideas.

During the activity, students were reminded that God is the original and Master Creator. It was such a blessing for them to take part in great College events like this. The collaboration and the extra effort by teachers and students really make for a special experience and great memories for the students.
