Our Years 4, 6, and 7 students stepped up to the challenge this semester, tackling real-world problems through STEM projects that showcased creativity, teamwork, and innovation for God’s glory. Their efforts culminated in the Reho Game Changers STEM event and the State Awards, where several teams earned top honors and industry recognition.
Students from Years 4, 6 and 7 have been exploring problem-solving, engineering principles, teamwork, project management, and presentation skills in their Digital technology classes this semester. Through engineering and design challenges, students were challenged to grow in their God-given gifts of creativity and innovation by exploring real-world problems and developing thoughtful solutions, all while pursuing excellence for God’s glory.
At the conclusion of the program, students across our three campuses came together for an inspiring day of creativity, collaboration, and innovation at the Reho Game Changers STEM event where they showcased their projects to a panel of judges consisting of teachers, ex-Rehoboth students and industrial professionals. It’s no doubt unnerving but also a very rewarding experience.
The top five teams from each year’s group then progressed further to compete in the State Game Changers Awards which was conducted in a similar fashion, involving a wider community of schools and industrial partners in the State. The students had a fantastic time showcasing their innovations, exploring and discovering the creativity of students from different schools and meeting industry professionals who provided wonderful insight into potential career paths.
Congratulations to the teams who received awards at the Game Changers Awards. Buddy Check (Year 4) received the Best Overall Entry award and Too Precious to Forget (Year 4) received the Best Presentation award for their age category. Buddy Check also won the Chair’s Award which is given to the best projects selected from across all age categories and as a result they will be exhibiting their project at the Young Entrepreneurs Showcase at the West Tech Fest in December. In the secondary group, The Squeaky Clean Crew (Year 7) received the Best Use of STEM Award in their age category. These students worked diligently on their projects and deserved the recognition they received.
It was a joy to witness our students tackle real-world challenges with enthusiasm and ingenuity, showcasing the very best of what STEM education can offer. All Rehoboth students who participated in the Game Changes Awards demonstrated maturity, kindness and professionalism in the way they conducted themselves on the day. Even when faced with unexpected hurdles, their energy and fun-loving spirit never wavered—a testament to the vibrant community we’re building here at Rehoboth. The friendships formed, the resilience demonstrated, and the soft skills developed are treasures that extend far beyond the classroom.
We are grateful for the Lord’s provision of a wonderous experience and look forward to what He has in store for next year’s Rehoboth representatives.
