ACC Senior Soccer Carnival

It was a great day to test our abilities against tough competition as well as to relish the opportunity to play in a team alongside our schoolmates.

On Thursday 19 May, the Senior Boys and Girls Soccer Teams played in the ACC Championship Competition at Kingsway Sports Complex. After an early shower in the morning, the suns shone down throughout the rest of the day as our two teams played opponents from Mercy College, Emmanuel Christian School, St Norbert’s College and Carmel School.

The day was played as a Round Robin competition and both teams played excellently. The Girls team were dominant and had convincing wins throughout the day, notching up wins of 1-0, 9-0 and 2-1 only losing the last game 0-2 to finish second on the final standings. This has qualified them to progress to the Quarter Final of the state-wide competition which is an awesome achievement.

The Boys team had similar success initially losing their first game 2-1, but bounced back to win the second 3-0, draw the next 1-1 before losing their game 1-0. This placed them third out of the 5 teams which unfortunately means they won’t progress. They should be very proud of their achievements when considering several of the schools we played have dedicated Soccer Academies attached to them.
