Our Year 7 students started learning Mandarin this year and have already begun to show amazing results in learning a new language!
The Education Perfect Regional Language Championship commenced from 7-11 August. Once again, our school performed very well for Indonesian. Our students who competed in Mandarin performed very well too!
Rehoboth came first for Indonesian and Mandarin in WA out of 82 schools that competed. There were 204 schools that competed in total, and we came first in both subjects.
Lovenia Anggadjaja came first under the individual student achievement category. Georgia Strickling (Y12 ATAR Indonesian Second Language) came third, and Abigail Lau (Y12 Indonesian ATAR First Language) came seventh in WA for all subjects.
9 of our Secondary students were in the top 12 for Indonesian in WA.
Our Year 7 students started learning Mandarin this year and they have already begun to show amazing achievements in learning a new language. 6 out of 49 students who competed in Mandarin, in Year 7 earned a certificate, and 5 out of those students were in the top 12 for Mandarin.
Students also had fun trying out other languages to earn points!
This year, there were approximately 180 Rehoboth students who competed and 96 Secondary students who earned certificates.
A big congratulations to those students who achieved amazing results!
Our Year 10 Indonesian class won a $100 gift voucher for a class party. The prize will be shared amongst all the students who received certificates.
