2015 NAPLAN Results: Kenwick Secondary

Year 9

A comparison with national benchmarks and the NAPLAN Year 9 standards indicates strong Rehoboth results, with its mean well above the WA and National Schools Means in ALL areas tested. Compared to the State means, Numeracy (+37), Grammar and Punctuation (+34), Writing (+28), Spelling (+33), Reading (+22), are all relative strengths for this group and rated well above other means.

Year 7

A comparison with national benchmarks and the NAPLAN Year 7 standards indicated the Rehoboth mean well above the WA and National Schools Means in ALL areas tested. Compared to State means, Numeracy (+27), Writing (+29), Grammar (+26), Reading (+21) and Spelling (+20) are relative strengths for this group. A feature of this group’s performance is their strong Numeracy results, and their terrific improvement in Writing from Year 3 through to Year 7, where they have caught up to the national mean and now well and truly surpass it.
A trend in both group’s performance is their consistent improvement in all areas. It is very encouraging to see the rate of growth and development that is taking place between Year 7 and Year 9, and the increasing distance between the Rehoboth means and the WA and National Means. This clearly illustrates the value-added impact the College is having on our students. The graphs can be examined in the article devoted to the NAPLAN results in this newsletter, and are also copied on the main noticeboard.
