The Library was a hive of activity today as the Wilson Campus participated in The Great Book Swap challenge.
Students were encouraged to bring a book – one that they love, but could bear to part with – and donate it. All books were collected and put up “for sale.” Then for the price of a gold coin, students were able to choose a new book to buy. It was great to see the students so excited about choosing and buying a new book, and seeing them read it as we walked along the verandah during the day.
Thank you to all those who participated in this fun event. We raised a total of $126, which will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation who will use it to help fund literature programs and buy books for indigenous children in remote communities.
