Wilson opened on 14 February, 1966 with just 23 students and 2 teachers. It quickly grew to incorporate additional classrooms, an art room, and library and is set to expand even further in 2015 with the construction of an Early Learning Centre and classroom block to allow for double streaming.
Wilson caters for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently has over 200 students enrolled. The campus runs a range of excursions, incursions, and camps to give students out-of-College experiences which are still closely aligned with the curriculum. Kindergarten, because of the age of the children, focuses on incursions where the experience comes to the children, while students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 will have opportunities to attend off-site excursions through the year.
In addition to the well-maintained outdoor plays areas on the campus grounds, students have access to Thomas Moore Park, located across Armstrong Road, which can be used during lunch time and for sporting activities.
Wilson itself is a diverse and growing suburb, partly bounded by the Canning River and in close proximity to Westfield Carousel and Curtin University. It is popular with young families and university students looking for affordable housing.
