Last Monday night we had our end of year concert and awards night for the guitar program. It was fantastic to see more than 70 people attend to watch the students perform. Overall the students did a great job showcasing some of the skills they’ve been learning on the guitar this year and it was particularly encouraging to see so many new students performing for the first time. I was very proud of the children who presented items and it was great to see a high standard of musicianship and professionalism.
In addition to the guitar performances, this event was also an opportunity to present the student awards for 2015. Overall there were 5 students who were recognised for their outstanding achievements in guitar this year:
Most outstanding beginners: Benjamin, Georgia
Most improved: Jonathan
Runner-up top guitar student: Evan
Most outstanding guitar student 2015: Emily
Well done to these students and to everyone who took part in the guitar program this year.
