Community Celebration: Open Day 2015

The Open Day last Saturday was a great time of community, catching up with friends, enjoying great food, and experiencing the school’s “local talent”. Our musical items were fantastic with, performances by the choir and band, as well as solo and small group pieces. The community games were a lot of fun with paper airplanes soaring through the air, as well as those that jumped over the limbo stick! The horse rides were popular and the ticket stamp hunt was one of the favourites.

It was encouraging after months of preparation – meetings, shopping, emails, and discussions – to see the successful results of the day. As with any event such as this, there are many people who donate their time, resources, and finance to make it a success. Thank you to our Class Parent Representatives who have faithfully attended meetings and encouraged their fellow parents to contribute. To the many parents who volunteered on the day by serving on stalls, running games, painting faces: thank you for your tireless work. To the generous community members that donated so many resources at their own cost, thank you so much. Also to the local businesses: IGA Express at Como; Paul Newcombe, (a former Rehoboth student) from Betta Electrical Rockingham; Sizzler Riverton; Lo Quay Café; Big W Riverton, and Specsavers Riverton, a big thank you! And last but by no means least, to the staff. What an outstanding and excellent job you all do. Your classrooms looked amazing and your assistance throughout the day was much appreciated. It was a privilege to discuss life at Rehoboth with potential families and show them school.

We praise God for a wonderful, blessed day and for the provision of raising approximately $6,000! The staff will enjoy planning together the details of spending these funds and we will update later in the year on this

Thank you so much!
