Enter the Wolfpack: 2017 WA Baptist Basketball Champions

The Rehoboth U18s Basketball team (Reho Wolfpack) are the 2017 Western Australia Baptist Basketball Association champions, after defeating Mount Pleasant Baptist 47-34 at Lakeside Recreation Centre on Saturday 16 September.  

The Wolfpack headed into the game as underdogs after losing to Mount Pleasant 3 times during the season, including a blowout loss just 2 weeks ago in the preliminary finals. However, in the opening half the boys stamped their intent jumping out to a massive 34-12 lead.

House Athletics 2017

This year’s House Athletics Carnival took place on Thursday 17 August and we were blessed with an awesome late winter/early spring day after having to postpone the carnival the week before.  

As always, the aim of the day was mass participation – and like last year, everyone that participated took all their throws and jumps and didn’t give up after the first trial. There was even time for a shuttle relay this year, with Wycliffe House being the winner.

2017 Primary Cross-Country Carnival

All Year 2-6 students from both the Wilson and Kenwick Campuses had the opportunity today to participate in this year’s Cross-Country Carnival.

There were over 300 runners, all trying their best and enjoying what was a brilliant day of sportsmanship and competition.  

Congratulations to our Champions and Runner-up Champions, and to Wycliffe House who won the overall points competition.

Newton House Makes History

A piece of Rehoboth history was made today as Newton House won the 2017 Primary Swimming Carnival.

For many years the Newton team has watched on as their counterparts held up numerous trophies, but finally it was their turn, edging out Tyndale 1048 to 1034. Wycliffe rounded out the table with 988 points, making the Carnival a closely fought competition.

Year 7-8 Division Grand Final

The Raptors took on the table-topping Warriors to see who would come out on top in the Year 7-8 basketball grand final played today.

The game was hotly contested from the start, with each team going bucket for bucket.

The Warriors were under pressure from the start, with their start player, Esteban Weesner absent. David Oyewopo took up the slack, scoring on numerous occasions inside the paint.

Year 6 Boys Take Out the WACSSA Basketball Championship

Rehoboth continued its fine run of form in WACSSA Basketball Carnivals this year by winning the Year 6 Boys Division A competition. The event, held on Friday 29 July at the Bendat Stadium, saw a Rehoboth team made up of students from both the Wilson and Kenwick campuses competing against teams from Swan, Carey, Kalamunda, and Dale.

We had a great day for the Swimming Carnival on Monday this week. The students were excited, the new PE teacher was perhaps just a little nervous, and everyone was ready to do their best and to cheer everyone on.
